Happy New Year!
Here's a photo of Scott and I that was taken by our friend in the UK, where we went for Thanksgiving. We had a great time, so thanks UK and American friends!!
We also spent a little road time over Christmas. We went down to Geneva and stayed with our friend Lara, who works for WHO. She has a lovely house just over the border in France. Love it. Carmen also came in from the UK - and because of all that damnable fog that kept the London area grounded for three days, she had to switch flights at the 11th hour and flew to Grenoble from Gatwick, instead of London City to Basel (her normal route). So on Christmas Eve, Scott and I drove to Grenoble, a lovely drive through the French countryside, to pick her up. There are definitely worse ways to spend a Christmas Eve morning. :-)
Our other friends, Adriana and Lane, and their 2-year-old, Jasper, also came from New York City to spend Christmas in Europe. So it was a big, fun group - and the food, thanks to two cooking foodies (Adriana and Lara) was SUPERB. Yummy.
Here's a photo of Lane, Adriana, and Jasper on Christmas morning.
Here is a photo of me, Lara and Adriana, resplendent in our Carmen-knit hats. Ah, the hats, they are lovely. But the scarves Carmen has knit me, well, they are beauteous to behold...maybe pix of those later (there are some photos of the coral one in the photo archives). My mom sent me a xmas present - and, surprise!, she had also knit me a very cool black and white scarf out of similar yarn - coincidence, eh? I don't have a photo of that one either, but it's very nice.
And here is a photo of Carmen and Lane in Starbucks in Geneva, where we took refuge from the cold and enjoyed huge American-influenced hot beverages. Note that Carmen is wearing one of the FAB scarves. And working on knitting a hat. Never stops knitting, does our Carmen. :-)
